5 A New Symbiote Was Created That Bonded With Flash Thompson To Become Agent Anti-Venom
Even though Venom and Anti-Venom have a lot that separates them as symbiotes, they have a few things in common. Both have an affinity for Eddie Brock, but it eventually turns out that the Anti-Venom symbiote also has an affinity for Flash Thompson. When using the symbiote, Thompson becomes Agent Venom, one of the most powerful members of Venom’s symbiote family.
Eddie Brock was forced to sacrifice the Anti-Venom symbiote during the Spider-Island event to create a cure. However, some of the Anti-Venom serum had been saved, which Flash Thompson was later exploded to in Venom, Inc. The serum reacted with The Venom symbiote in Flash’s blood and created a powerful new symbiote, helping him become Agent Anti-Venom.
4 Agent Anti-Venom Died Saving Spider-Man’s Loved Ones From Red Goblin
Unfortunately, Flash Thompson didn’t spend too much time as Agent Anti-Venom when compared to his original role as Agent Venom. During the «Go Down Swinging» storyline, Norman Osborn bonded with the Carnage symbiote to become the Red Goblin. He launched a brutal attack against Spider-Man that targeted his loved ones.
Thankfully, Agent Anti-Venom was able to use his healing touch to protect Spider-Man’s closest friends, but it left the hero vulnerable. Red Goblin mortally wounded Flash Thompson, and the Anti-Venom symbiote didn’t have enough anti-bodies to heal him. Flash Thompson died saving others, and he appeared to take the Anti-Venom symbiote with him.
7 Anti-Venom Has A Deadly Caustic Touch That Devastates Other Symbiotes
While the Anti-Venom symbiote is mostly known for its healing properties, it also has a vicious touch when it comes to symbiotes. Anti-Venom is first created in response to the Venom symbiote’s attempt to bond with Eddie Brock. When it forms over Eddie, the Venom symbiote burns from Anti-Venom’s touch.
This made Anti-Venom immune to any bond with a symbiote. However, there were limitations to this ability. If Anti-Venom used too many of his healing anti-bodies to cure others, it left him vulnerable. The Venom symbiote even managed to briefly rebond with Eddie Brock while the Anti-Venom symbiote recharged.
1 Agent Anti-Venom Joined The Savage Avengers Team That Formed With Conan
Flash Thompson was resurrected during the King in Black event when his Anti-Venom codex took over a Grendel symbiote dragon and brought his physical body back to life. He once again became Agent Anti-Venom, which set him on the path to becoming Carnage’s new arch-enemy.
Agent Anti-Venom joined with Silence and Toxin to fight against Carnage’s hive mind in the Extreme Carnage event, but that wasn’t the only team he joined after his return. Thompson joined a new iteration of the Savage Avengers with heroes like Cloak & Dagger, Elektra’s Daredevil, Weapon H, Deathlok and Black Knight alongside Conan the Barbarian.

3 Doctor Stevens Created Anti-Venom Suits For Heroes During King In Black
Alchemax’s Doctor Stevens worked closely with Eddie Brock and the Venom symbiote over the years. He also helped raise the young Sleeper symbiote and worked to fight against Knull’s invasion during King in Black. Stevens combined different aspects of his symbiote research to help the heroes during the symbiote’s attack.
Stevens used his research in Weapon V’s Sym-Soldier Suits with a formula that he created from the Anti-Venom symbiote to enhance heroes like Black Cat. He created a prototype Anti-Venom Battlesuit Black Cat used to rescue Doctor Strange from Knull. The Anti-Venom Battlesuit protected Black Cat from the symbiotes, but it was unstable and easily dissipated.
2 The Anti-Venom Symbiote Resurrected The Scream Symbiote To Become Silence
Andi Benton was Agent Venom’s former sidekick and one of the most powerful symbiotes known as Mania. However, she lost her symbiote after getting cursed with a demonic Hell-Mark that gave her pyrokinetic abilities. She would later bond with the Scream symbiote that was created by the Life Foundation after its host was killed during the Absolute Carnage event.
Unfortunately, the Scream symbiote was corrupted by Carnage’s hive-mind during the Extreme Carnage event, and Benton was forced to kill it with Hellfire. Dr. Steve resurrected the symbiote by splicing it with a sample of the Anti-Venom symbiote. Andi bonded with the new symbiote and became Silence, sharing many of Anti-Venom’s special abilities.
