What Is the Rarity of Anime Enchanting Tales Cards?

As described in Wizards of the Coast’s official article about collecting Wilds of Eldraine:

Draft and Set boosters have a dedicated slot that will always have an Enchanting Tales card. 2.8% of the time, that card will have the anime art treatment (1.1% of the time it will be a rare card, and 1.7% of the time it will be a mythic rare card).

Set boosters also have 2 wildcard slots where both regular Enchanting Tales and anime Enchanting Tales cards have a slight chance of showing up. I haven’t been able to find the exact odds of finding an anime card in these wildcard slots (which can also contain Borderless, Jumpstart, or Commander cards in some packs), but WotC’s article describes said odds as “small.”

In the case of Collector boosters, they have two slots with a chance to drop an anime Enchanting Tales card:

The Non-foil rare or mythic rare Enchanting Tales slot, in which odds for a rare anime card are 6.7% and odds for a mythic rare anime card are 10% (while the remaining 83.3% of the time you’ll get a regular Enchanting Tales card in this slot, either a rare or a mythic rare).

The Traditional foil Booster Fun rare or mythic rare slot, where you’ll get an anime borderless Enchanting Tales 2.8% of the time (with odds of 1.1% for a rare, and 1.7% for a mythic rare), and a confetti-foil anime card also 2.8% of the time (again with 1.1% odds for a rare and 1.7% odds for a mythic rare with the confetti treatment).

Wrap Up

And that’s all we know as of now about these anime beauties. Remember that Enchanting Tales cards are not Standard-legal, but as a collection of some of MTG’s most popular enchantments, they can be amazing additions to an Eternal deck.

And you can very much use them in Limited formats, if you open them in your Sealed pool or pick them for your drafted deck.

What Are Anime Enchanting Tales Cards?

The anime Enchanting Tales cards are alternate-art, anime-themed treatments of the Enchanting Tales bonus sheet from Wilds of Eldraine, illustrated by talented Japanese artists. In total, there are 15 mythic rares and 5 rares with the anime borderless treatment (one rare and three mythic rares per color).

All Wilds of Eldraine boosters, be it Draft, Set, or Collector boosters, contain at least one Enchanting Tales card, and said card has a small chance (of roughly about 3% for Draft and Set boosters, and about 16% for Collector boosters) of having the anime alternate art.

In addition, Collector boosters can also contain a special, never-before-seen foil treatment for these anime cards: the Confetti Foil!
